A new creative endeavor of
S. K. Kruse
Limen — the Latin root of liminal — names the threshold. The in-between, the neither-here-nor-there, the sacred pause before transformation.
Lumen is light. The luminous, the illuminated mind, the inner glow that becomes visible only when we stand long enough in the dark.
Together, they hold a philosophy—that meaning can be found in the borderlands, and that the soul, when asked to tell its story, reaches for the light.
Limen & Lumen is presently home to Tell the Story of Your Soul — an online and print course and journal, with optional online community and in-person events, designed to guide seekers through the practice of sacred self-narrative.
What else it shall become is still unfolding.
Tell the Story of Your Soul
"Astute observers of worldwide religion and culture have always noted the central role that liminality plays in spiritual formation. Whether describing communal rites of transformation or mapping the inner journeys of the spirit, the language of liminality is custom designed to assist practitioners and guides traverse monumental spiritual thresholds. That recognition, however, has not always resulted in a concrete approach, method or framework. Until now, that is. Tell the Story of Your Soul is just such a resource. S.K. Kruse created this resource with individuals and groups from all spiritual traditions in mind and the week-by-week sessions are augmented by rich online resources. I look forward to using this thoughtful and practical guide in my own scope of work."
— Timothy Carson, D.Min. Author of Liminal Reality and Transformational Power and co-author of
Crossing Thresholds: A Practical Theology of Liminality
S. K. Kruse developed the Tell the Story of Your Soul print and online course after writing her Soul-Making Keats Literary-Award winning novel Of Beginnings and Ends. She found the process to be so filled with insight, catharsis, and genuine healing, she wanted to help others experience the same.
